Founded by Iowa natives Ben Wiese and Dave Nylen, Central Iowa Solutions provides beautiful results and great customer service.

Wiese brings a novel perspective to applying home automation systems to pre-existing homes and has a creative eye for the finishes in home projects. He is an Iowa State graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology.

Nylen has over 30 years of manufacturing and building trade experience and brings a wealth of knowledge to Central Iowa Solutions. He is an Iowa marketing and MBA grad.

Ben Wiese

Ben is an ISU Industrial Technology grad specializing in manufacturing systems. In his childhood, he spent time with his grandfather and uncles, seeing them working in houses. While in high school, he worked as a crew member with the rural Iowa contractors. In 2010, he began contracting to pay for his college, and in 2013, he partnered with Dave Nylen. "The design techniques and lean manufacturing principles that we apply to residential construction keep our team in a constant state of improvement, and we can deliver top-quality products to our customers."

Dave Nylen

"My grandpa Vic Nylen came to the US from Sweden around 1920 and soon after started his business. 47 years later, Dave Nylen brings the same passion that my grandpa brought to his work. At the age of 10, I built my first deck with my dad. Years later, I started framing and trimming houses with my brother during summer breaks from college. I earned an undergraduate business degree and later an MBA from the University of Iowa. Over the years, the skills I learned helped me construct a great team at Central Iowa Solutions. We provide a variety of construction services all over Central Iowa."

Rick Swalwell

With heavy hearts, we remember Rick Swalwell, a dedicated member of Central Iowa Solutions. Rick brought passion, expertise, and a positive spirit to our team, making an indelible mark on our company and the construction industry in Des Moines. Rick's contributions helped shape the success of Central Iowa Solutions, and his kindness and commitment to excellence will be remembered by all who had the privilege of working alongside Rick.

We extend our deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones. Rick will always remain in our thoughts and forever be a part of our legacy.

Steven Dorenkamp

In December 2002, Steven joined the Navy and became a Nuclear Electrician and was stationed on the USS Ohio, a nuclear class submarine. He graduated in the year 2016 from Iowa State University with a BS in Electrical Engineering that includes a background in nuclear engineering. Steven has been with Central Iowa Solutions since its inception. He also worked with the company throughout his college and, upon graduation, decided to stay and help the company. "A great place to work, Central Iowa Solutions keeps work interesting and requires problem-solving to acquire desired results."

Collin Currie

While still a student at Iowa State University and taking classes in Construction Engineering, Colin joined Central Iowa Solutions, and then he decided he wanted to stay with the team at Central Iowa Solutions. He has been there with the company for three and a half years and has been part owner for a little over a year. Colin specializes in installations and outdoor living areas for kitchens and baths. "At Central Iowa Solutions, we listen to each other's ideas and work together to achieve common goals."
